The trees were full of Pine Siskins. These were the first ones I\u2019ve run into away from the feeders in our yard, and it was interesting to watch them in a different setting \u2013 or just to listen to them. Their <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">zhree-eee-eee<\/span> calls are fascinating. The sound makes me wince like a shock, and yet, I stood there listening to it again and again because it\u2019s so intriguing.
